Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Amboseli National Park
Your safari begins with a pick-up in Nairobi by your safari guide. You will drive for about 4 to 5 hours to reach Amboseli National Park in southern Kenya. On arrival in the afternoon, check in at your lodge or camp and have lunch. After a short rest, head out for a game drive on the open plains of Amboseli. Later in the day, return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game Drives in Amboseli National Park
Today you will spend the full day exploring Amboseli. Pack a picnic lunch and head out to different parts of the park for game viewing. You will likely see large herds of elephants, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, and giraffes. You may also spot predators such as wild dogs, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals.
Visit Lake Amboseli and the swampy areas, which are good spots for bird-watching. Climb Observation Hill for wide views of the park and a chance to see Mount Kilimanjaro. Optional activities include a cultural visit to a Maasai village or a guided nature walk.
Day 3: Transfer to Tsavo West National Park
After an early breakfast, check out and drive east to Tsavo West National Park. This park is known for its wildlife and landscapes. On your way, you may spot more animals. One of the highlights is a visit to Mzima Springs, which has clear water and is home to hippos and fish.
Arrive in the afternoon, have lunch, and relax. Later, go on a game drive in Tsavo West. You may see rhinos, lions, zebras, elephants, buffaloes, impalas, and many birds. Return to your lodge or camp for the night. You may also choose to visit Tsavo East National Park on this day.
Day 4: Game Drive in Tsavo West and Return to Nairobi
Start the day with an early morning game drive to look for any animals you may have missed. After the drive, return for breakfast and check out. Begin the journey back to Nairobi. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 4-day safari.
