Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Amboseli National Park
On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your safari guide will welcome you, load your luggage into the safari vehicle, and begin the drive to Amboseli National Park. If you are already in Nairobi, pick-up can be from your hotel. The drive takes about 3 to 4 hours.
Once you arrive at Amboseli, check in to your safari lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, go on your first game drive. Explore the open plains and swampy wetlands of the park, home to many animals. Later in the evening, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Hot Air Balloon Safari and Game Drive in Amboseli
You will wake up early at around 5:30 am for your balloon safari. After a quick cup of tea or coffee, drive to the balloon launch site where you will meet the pilot and crew for a short safety briefing. Then, take off and float over the Savannah, watching the animals and landscapes below. You may also see Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
The flight lasts about one hour. After landing, enjoy a bush breakfast and a toast with a glass of champagne. After breakfast, continue your safari with a game drive to see more animals up close. Later in the day, you may choose to visit a Maasai village for a cultural experience. Return to your lodge for overnight.
Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Nairobi City
After breakfast, check out of your lodge and begin your journey back to Nairobi. Enjoy a final game drive as you leave the park. Your safari guide will drop you off at your hotel or the airport, marking the end of your 3-day Amboseli Balloon Safari.
