Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Your safari guide will pick you up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your hotel in Nairobi. You will drive for about 4–5 hours to Amboseli National Park, which is known for its large herds of African elephants.
After checking in to your lodge and having lunch, you will go on a late afternoon game drive to start your wildlife experience. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Game Drives in Amboseli National Park
Today is a full day to explore Amboseli. You will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives as you search for elephants, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes, wildebeests, jackals, and other animals.
You will also drive near Lake Amboseli and the swamps where you can see hippos and many bird species. Don’t forget to enjoy the view of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background.
Day 3: Amboseli to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, you will leave Amboseli and drive to Tsavo West National Park. This park is famous for its natural springs, especially the Mzima Springs. You will check into your lodge, have lunch, and relax.
In the afternoon, you will go on a game drive to see elephants, lions, crocodiles, waterbucks, gazelles, hippos, rhinos, and more. Return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 4: Tsavo West to Tsavo East National Park
You will wake up early for a morning game drive before sunrise. This is the best time to see animals like lions and leopards hunting or other animals starting their day. After breakfast, check out and drive to Tsavo East National Park.
Tsavo East is known for its red elephants and wide plains. After lunch, you will go on another game drive to see more animals like hartebeests, buffaloes, impalas, hyenas, mongooses, and more. Return to your lodge for overnight.
Day 5: Tsavo East to Nairobi
Start your day with an early game drive in Tsavo East. After the drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and then check out. Your safari guide will drive you back to Nairobi.
You will be dropped off at your hotel or at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
