Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Amboseli National Park – Afternoon Game Drive
Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi and drive you to Amboseli National Park, starting your 7-day safari. After lunch at your lodge or camp, you will rest for a short while and then go on your first game drive in the afternoon. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Today, you will spend the whole day exploring Amboseli. The park is home to many elephants, along with buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, rhinos, giraffes, waterbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, jackals, and wild dogs.
Over 400 bird species can also be seen. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, then return to your lodge or camp for the night.
Day 3: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, begin the long drive to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey takes about 7 to 8 hours with two stops. The first is for lunch and the second is at the Rift Valley viewpoint to enjoy the scenery and take photos. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru in the late afternoon and go on a short game drive before heading to your lodge to relax for the evening.
Day 4: Game Drive in Lake Nakuru – Transfer to Masai Mara
Start your day with a very early game drive in Lake Nakuru. Look out for grazing animals, hippos, and birds like flamingos and pelicans. After breakfast, check out and drive to Maasai Mara National Reserve. Arrive in the afternoon, check in at your lodge or camp, and spend the evening resting.
Day 5-6: Masai Mara National Reserve
Spend two full days exploring Masai Mara, one of the best wildlife destinations in Kenya. You will have a chance to see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard), as well as zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas, and more.
Visit the Mara River to see crocodiles and hippos, and if it’s migration season, you may witness the wildebeest crossing. Optional activities include a Maasai village visit or a hot air balloon safari.
Day 7: End of Safari – Nairobi
After breakfast, check out and drive out of Masai Mara with a final game drive on the way. You will return to Nairobi, where your guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport, marking the end of your 7-day safari.
